"But you know", Harrison continued with a tone so dry it practically crackles off the screen, "I don't even think Trump knows what "transgender" means. Trump's claim that having transgender people in the military would create high medical costs for the department is not based in fact. It said state and local officials should decide the issue. It doesn't want anyone who is different to have the same rights they do. "And yet, Trump says transgender people in the military would be a tremendous disruption, and I get it. Instead of using twitter to announce major policy decisions, President Trump's valuable time would be better spent working on a jobs or national security plan, holding Russian Federation accountable or providing better health care as promised".

On Wednesday night, she followed up with a tweet linking to a more thorough statement on the matter, saying, "Every American should be outraged by the disrespect shown to those people wearing our country's uniform".

Despite the views on if transgenders should be able to openly serve the Country, both parties agree it should be the military's decision, not a politician's.

On Twitter, the Canadian Armed forces said they invited nationals of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
