A suspect has been identified.

Police had chased Juarez through the downtown area, and Juarez was shooting at officers during the pursuit, sources said.

Police arrested Armando Luis Juarez, 29, on charges of aggravated assault on a police officer and felony theft.

A civilian who was working as a loss prevention officer at the store was also injured, police said. He is believed to have left the incident driving a white pickup truck.

All three were out of surgery, Police Chief U. Renee Hall announced about 10:10 p.m. One officer's family is at the hospital, and one is en route to the hospital.

The officer detained a man and called for assistance. The identities of the injured officers and the civilian have not been released.
