Pornographic actress Stormy Daniels (Stephanie Clifford) filed a new lawsuit against the President of the United States Donald trump in Federal court in NY for libel.

In an escalating legal fight against Trump, Stormy Daniels' lawyer Michael Avenatti filed the complaint in federal court in NY on Monday.

Mr Trump's lawyers did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Ms Daniels is seeking a jury trial and unspecified damages. We fully intend on bringing it to light.

After Clifford released a drawing of the man she said threatened her, Trump tweeted: "A sketch years later about a nonexistent man". The president did say, however, that Cohen represented him with regard to the Daniels matter. "It'd be a shame if something happened to her mom", Daniels claims.

In the suit, Clifford said that Trump made "false and defamatory" statements about her in an April 18 tweet.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, is suing Cohen to overturn a nondisclosure agreement she signed prior to the 2016 presidential election over her alleged 2006 affair with Trump. On Friday, federal Judge James Otero granted a 90-day delay in that lawsuit - but also warned that Cohen likely faces a criminal indictment. Cohen is under federal investigation for matters relating to the Daniel's payoff, including campaign finance violations.

All of the channels will also be covering Trump's rally in Macomb County, Mich ., scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Where can I watch it? . "And then I'm supposed to." he continued, faking an exaggerated smile.

"Just because something isn't true doesn't mean that it can't cause you harm or damage".

Avenatti replied by mocking Trump and raising the defamation issue.

Daniels sued Trump as an individual, not in his capacity as president, which could pose problems for any defense.

Aided by her hard-charging attorney, Michael Avenatti, Daniels has aggressively sought to keep her case in the public eye.

Trump has argued that he was immune from that lawsuit.

According to Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, the unknown man referred to her child, saying, "That's a handsome little girl".

Ryan is representing Cohen in the face of the Russian Federation investigation, which Trump himself is reportedly in "panic mode" over, as well as in the parallel probe by US attorney's office for the Southern District of NY.
