The Thunder Are Reportedly Hoping to Get Rid of Carmelo Anthony

Paul George Is 'Gone' After Season With Thunder (Ryen Russillo Show)

Report: Paul George will leave Thunder in free agency

Paul George is "gone" after the Oklahoma City Thunder failed to advance past the first round of the Playoffs, according to ESPN's Ryen Russillo.

Oklahoma City's general manager Sam Presti said Wednesday that Donovan will be back next year despite a "disappointing" season.

Considering the market and Anthony's diminishing skills, it would seem unwise for him to turn down almost $28 million. "Continuity is his best friend going forward". Even with the added star power, the Thunder won just one more regular-season game than past year and lost in the first round of the playoffs again.

Presti cites the fact that the team's core players-Russell Westbrook, George, Steven Adams and others-are either in the prime of their careers or are in the midst of their prime, making it easy to pay to keep this core together versus the alternative to rebuild the roster.

Billy Donovan will get a fourth season as head coach of the Oklahoma City Thunder despite falling short of expectations in 2017-18.

According to a report from ESPN.com's Adrian Wojnarowski, Calathes is looking to latch on to an National Basketball Association squad after posting an excellent season with Panathinaikos in the Greek Pro A league. The 33-year-old star player is coming off his worst season statistically, having averaged 16.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists along with a 40.4 percent shooting rate from the field.

Calathes, 29, has bounced from playing overseas to the National Basketball Association since leaving Florida as a sophomore in 2009.

There are nine former Gators in the National Basketball Association. "I think it's incumbent on us as an organization to show the same respect and be honest and transparent, straight with him about what that might look like going forward".

Presti can now focus on figuring out the roster Donovan will work with next season, most notably Paul George, who can opt out and become a free agent and has always been believed to be destined to join the Los Angeles Lakers. "I have a lot to take with me and feel happy about". I felt strongly about the relationship.

"His ability to continue to catch and shoot, knock shots down, I think is a big part of his continued evolution as a player", Presti said.
