Deadly Weather Warning, Punjab-Haryana And 13 Other Different States on High Alert!

"The Delhi government has made a decision to close all evening schools tomorrow (Tuesday) following warning of heavy rains and thunderstorm".

The India Meteorological Department has issued a warning about weather condition over some parts of north west India for today and tomorrow.

The thunderstorm is likely to affect isolated places over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Tuesday.

A severe storm, accompanied by hail and rain, hit Shimla and other parts of Himachal Pradesh, while the higher reaches of the state experienced snowfall. All schools are going to remain shut in Haryana, and there was already heavy downpour in Chandigarh today. Heavy rain is likely on Tuesday over Tamil Nadu, Kerala and south Karnataka, it said. Following such incident, an alert has been issued by the Home Ministry of India. In Rajasthan, a dust storm hit places in Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions and isolated areas in Jaipur, Ajmer and Kota regions.

Private weather agency Skymet in its forecast has said that there was less chance of severe dust storm in Delhi now.

"If the wind speed is reported in the range of 70-90 kmph then train movement will remain normal, but trains will enter with a restricted speed of 40 kmph or less, at platforms on elevated sections of the network". "Till tomorrow there's a possibility of a dust storm and thunderstorm in Delhi", IMD official, Devendra Pradhan told ANI. 2,500 people have taken shelter there.

Last week, 124 people died and more than 300 people were injured in the incidents of storms and lightning in 5 states of India, including Rajasthan, western Uttar Pradesh. The expected thunderstorms accompanied by squall, hail and heavy rains are likely to occur in at least 13 states and two Union Territories across the country including Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Chandigarh and Delhi.
