CLEVELAND - LeBron James passed Michael Jordan for the most 30-point games in National Basketball Association playoff history by scoring 33 points in the Cleveland Cavaliers' 110-102 Game 3 Finals loss to the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and JaVale McGee each had 10 points.
Naturally, the talk on Thursday in the player press conferences was about Durant's performance.
And the tally was James' 17 wins to Durant's four, including a lopsided 2012 championship series in which James got his first title and Finals MVP. If the Warriors sweep the Cavs, it will be the first time an National Basketball Association team has gone winless in the Finals since a young James and the Cavaliers fell to the 2007 National Basketball Association champion San Antonio Spurs.
"That wasn't the same shot", James told reporters in Cleveland.
Game three of the National Basketball Association finals will take place tonight between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers. They've both averaged 32 points in those games, shot nearly the exact same field goal percentage, and were close in rebounds.
"You can't have mistakes, they're not going to beat themselves", he continued. But as Cavs coach Tyronn Lue replied in deadpan fashion before the game when asked who would be the night's key player, the answer - as it usually is - was James.
"This game was like deja vu of Game 3 a year ago for him just all the way around", said Golden State's Draymond Green.
Republican advances in California primary with Trump's help
Jeff Denham's 10th District - Democrats led for the second spot in the general election, but the races were too close to call. The idea was that by opening up primaries to all voters, regardless of party, a flood of new centrist voters would arrive.
Durant will look to crush the Perkins and the Cavs again this Friday, when the Warriors eye a sweep of Cleveland in the finals.
Then, as they often do, the Warriors exploded in the third quarter, using a quick 9-3 spurt after the break to level the score and taking off from there.
While Kevin Durant and Kendrick Perkins are no longer plying their trades on the same team, it seems they haven't lost any of their camaraderie from their time in Oklahoma City. Durant, for his part, could be well on his way to adding another Finals MVP trophy, as he's averaged team bests of 31.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game through three games.
This is the great thing about Golden State's looming dynasty, one that is on the verge of beating Cleveland for the National Basketball Association title for a third time in the last four years.
Like Durant, Curry has not forgotten that loss.
He finished with 15 points on 7-for-11 shooting in 26 minutes. I'll wake up Friday morning, I'll be locked in on the game plan and what needs to be done to help our team win.
In January, they spent a night in a auto together driving around James' hometown in Akron talking about their lives and their careers and the lessons they learned in a feature for "Uninterrupted". They played in NBA Finals games and guarded each other in vital moments.
"They are going to come out with a flurry", Durant said.
