Kensington Palace has announced the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who married last month, will travel to Sydney for the 2018 Invictus Games - a Paralympics style event for defence veterans - of which Prince Harry is patron.

Page Six reports that the Duchess of Sussex was criticized by some members of the public for her recent wardrobe choice at Queen Elizabeth II's annual birthday parade. The "Quantico" actress wore a pastel shade of purple with a matching hat by Philip Treacy, while Spencer opted for a navy blue, collared dress with polka dots and a matching hat.

The visit will provide an insight into how the new Duchess will manage the duties of being one half of a royal couple.

This tour is very important for the new Princess who alongside Prince Harry is to play an important role in the Commonwealth.

Considering it was such a big state occasion, and her first Trooping the Colour, Catherine looked remarkably at ease during the procession. Picture: AAPPrince Harry and Meghan Markle attend the United Kingdom team trials for the Invictus Games Sydney 2018 in England.

But while the yearly tradition is something Harry has been a part of since he was a boy, it was new royal Meghan's first time attending such a high-profile royal event.
