Manchester United Set For £65m Bid For Leicester City And England Defender

And now the commanding centre-back is on United's summer shortlist as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his defensive options.

Jose Mourinho has reportedly held talks with Manchester United chiefs to demand more transfer funds due to concerns over the lack of squad depth. "We don't have a team to play much better than we did but it's one more training session".

Manchester United are set to end their interest in Alex Sandro and concentrate their efforts on signing a centre back, with Leicester City's Harry Maguire understood to be on José Mourinho's shortlist.

Maguire continued to forge a reputation as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League last season and he carried that form in to the World Cup as he was one of England's star performers en route to their semi-final appearance in Russian Federation.

England's Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate is believed to have opted for Maguire because of his mental alertness which will no doubt prove handy for the big occasion if he eventually makes the switch to Old Trafford.

Forecast: Heavy storms coming to Brooklyn Tuesday
Sunshine and warm temperatures once again in the forecast today with highs topping out in the upper 80's to mid 90's. Comfortable conditions are expected for Wednesday through Friday , with daytime highs expected in the low 80s.

"Mourinho's side are now just 11/10 to sign the Leicester defender, having been available at 10/1 a few days ago".

Leicester will improve Maguire's wages to around £75,000 in a bid to tie him down for another season but the Foxes are wary he could depart.

Maguire has impressed with both Hull and Leicester in the Premier League in the previous two seasons but he reached cult status for England at the World Cup and fans of any club would be happy to sign Slabhead.

Jose Mourinho, who was initially opposed to Martial leaving United, has accepted his eagerness to call time on his stint in Manchester after three years, with the forward going in search of a fresh challenge.
