At least 205 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed since protests and clashes erupted along the border on March 30. The Palestinian government has no jurisdiction over Israelis in the West Bank, and acts carried out by Israeli settlers often occur in the presence of Israeli military forces who rarely act to protect Palestinian residents.

Aisha Mohammed Aravi, 48, was driving in her vehicle along her husband near a West Bank checkpoint south of Nablus late on Friday when they came under attack by Israeli settlers who came onto the road and began throwing large stones at the couple's auto. He said an investigation was underway but did not give further details.

Israeli soldiers also shot and killed Afifi Mahmoud Afifi, 18, in eastern Gaza City, Qudra said.

Israeli troops killed six Palestinians as thousands thronged the border area in a Hamas-staged demonstration.

According to the Israeli army, rioters breached the security fence and planted a bomb nearby, setting a section of the barrier alight.

A Palestinian assailant armed with a knife attacked the soldier, 32, outside of the Shomron Regional Brigade headquarters in the northern West Bank, near the settlement of Itamar. One Israeli soldier was killed.

The Israeli military said that the demonstrators, numbering around 15,000, had been "hurling rocks, explosive devices, firebombs and grenades" at Israeli troops and at the fence.

Hamas, an Islamist terror group that rules the Gaza Strip and actively calls for Israel's destruction, has created new units tasked with sustaining tensions along the border fence including during nighttime and early morning hours.

The infiltration occurred on Friday as 14,000 Palestinians rioted in several places along the border fence as part of the ongoing "march of return".

The fuel deliveries were aimed at easing months of protests along the separation fence east of Gaza, which has been under a crippling Israeli and Egyptian blockade for more than a decade.

In addition, 10 fires broke out in southern Israel which were started by incendiary balloons launched over the border from Gaza, according to The Times of Israel.

Liberman's statement on halting fuel to Gaza came after Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh cheered for the continued violence on Gaza's border.
