Rihanna Declined Super Bowl Halftime Show Because of Colin Kaepernick

Rihannawas not interested in taking a bow at the 2019 Super Bowl-and Colin Kaepernick reportedly had something to do with it.

As per Us Weekly, the Anti singer was allegedly offered to perform during the Super Bowl LIII halftime, but she declined the offer out of support for Colin Kaepernick.

"The NFL and CBS (TV executives) really wanted Rihanna to be next year's performer in Atlanta", the insider said.

The comic actress, 37, said she will make a "sacrifice" by refusing to participate in any Super Bowl advertising over their handling of the anthem kneeling controversy.

Rihanna's decision to reject the offer over a political issue follows her Instagram message earlier in October urging fans to vote in the November US congressional elections.

Super Bowl LIII will take place in Atlanta on February 3.

As for the Super Bowl, the offer for the 30-year-old singer and Fenty Beauty pioneer reportedly went to Maroon 5, who is now slated as the headliner.
