Apple launches new MacBook Air with Retina Display

All-new MacBook Air takes flight

Apple launches new MacBook Air with retina display

When it comes to connecting your devices, the new MacBook Air has two USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports, much like Apple's recent MacBook Pro lineup.

Apple has launched a new updated MacBook Air, almost 3 years after it last updated the laptop, that has a Retina Display and TouchID. SSD storage can be upgraded to 1.5TB but this will drive the price up significantly. Those who were blindly hoping Apple would include a mix of USB-A and USB-C in the new Air, will be disappointed to learn that isn't the case.

In terms of size, the MacBook Air has 17% less volume, is 10% thinner, and weighs a twelfth less than previous MacBook Airs.

Apple CEO Tim Cook presents the new MacBook Air. It can be ordered today, October 30, and will be available next week, November 7.

The new MacBook Air starts at $1,199, and is available to order today on Apple's website. The native camera app comes with Animoji, Memoji and Group FaceTime features. Aluminium gives strength and durability to the new Mackbook Air, which is made from 100% recycled aluminium.

She carried a Christian Dior Clutch and wore a gorgeous pair of Manolo Blahnik BB pumps to accompany the dress. The parents-to-be will return to Australia on Friday before finishing their 16-day tour in New Zealand.

The previous update to the MacBook Air, released in 2017, included 128 GB of storage in the 13-inch version and 256 GB in the 15-inch version (both configurable to 512GB SSD).

That new Retina display seems like it absolutely had to happen considering the sort of all-screen, minimal-bezel screens on offer in MacBook Air rivals like the Huawei MateBook X and Dell XPS 13, and makes Apple's super portable system look like it belongs in 2018.

The 13.3-inch screen crams 4 million pixels onto the screen and Apple says the borders around the edge of the screen are "50% narrower" than before. The MacBook Air will be coming with a Retina display now! The Force Touch trackpad is also 20% larger than before, and the stereo speakers are 20% louder.

Apple has also worked very hard to ensure the MacBook Air is environmentally friendly, using numerous recycled components. Mercifully, you'll still be able to find a headphone jack on this laptop as well.

The new MacBook Air comes in space gray, silver, and a new gold that's still kind of roses. "Unlike any notebook that's come before or since, MacBook Air has become the most beloved notebook ever". We were hoping this latest rendition would feature full fat Intel Core processors that go up to quad-core, instead what we got was a machine that only features dual-core Intel Core Y-series CPUs.
