Turkey's ruling party to sue opposition over criticism of Khashoggi investigation

Mohammed bin Salman 'told White House' Khashoggi was a dangerous Islamist

Saudi crown prince told White House slain journalist Jamal Khashoggi was a Muslim extremist

"We knew that Khashoggi's body was dismembered", Mr Aktay said.

Riyadh initially claimed Khashoggi left freely after visiting the consulate in Istanbul on October 2. "This is what is understood from the prosecutor's statement", said Aktay, who was also close to the journalist.

The journalist's death and Saudi Arabia's inconsistent public statements regarding its responsibility have shocked the world.

Khashoggi had entered the consulate to get papers he needed to marry his Turkish fiancee, Hatice Cengiz, who waited for him outside for hours before she alerted Turkish authorities.

"Though Riyadh has detained 18 suspects, it is deeply concerning that no action has been taken against the Saudi consul general, who lied through his teeth to the media and fled Turkey shortly afterward", Erdogan said.

"We have requested information from Saudi officials regarding the whereabouts of Jamal Khashoggi's body and the identity of the supposed local collaborator".

Another informed source told The Washington Post Bolton did not signal that he endorsed the Crown Prince's characterisation of Khashoggi during the call.

US State Department spokesman Robert Palladino on Thursday called for Khashoggi's remains to be located and returned to his family for burial as soon as possible.

The affair has created Saudi Arabia's worst diplomatic crisis since 9/11 and sullied the reputation of the crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, whom it is alleged must have been aware of the murder plan.

Russian Federation blames rocket failure on mistake during assembly
The sensor was damaged during the rocket's assembly at the Baikonur spaceport in Kazakhstan, the probe commission head said. Russian Federation stands to lose that monopoly with the arrival of SpaceX's Dragon and Boeing's Starliner crew capsules.

The crown prince, who has denied any involvement in Khashoggi's disappearance, reportedly described the journalist as a unsafe Islamist shortly after he vanished in a phone call with White House adviser Jared Kushner and national security adviser John Bolton.

"He doesn't want to disrupt everything and lose Saudi Arabia".

Khashoggi disappeared shortly after entering the consulate October 2 to obtain documents for his planned marriage, with Saudi officials giving shifting explanations for his death.

The renaming will take place at 1.14pm, the exact time that CCTV cameras recorded the journalist entering the consulate building in Istanbul and a mock "Khashoggi Street" sign which will be erected near the gates of the Saudi embassy.

"If true, the murder of a journalist inside a diplomatic facility would constitute nothing less than an act of state terror meant to intimidate journalists, dissidents, and exiled critics the world over", the letter reads.

Slain journalist Jamal Khashoggi is being remembered at a memorial service in Washington, D.C., on Friday, in an event that will include speeches from his fiancée, Hatice Cengiz, and others.

But the White House intends to keep the sanctions limited enough to avoid a rupture in its partnership with Crown Prince Mohammed. She termed the Trump administration "devoid of moral foundation".

He said that despite a longstanding relationship between Turkey and Saudi Arabia, Istanbul would not "turn a blind eye to the premeditated murder that unfolded in front of our very eyes".
