Stan Lee, the comic book legend who helped create iconic superheros including X-Men, the Avengers and Spider-Man, has died at age 95 on Monday in Los Angeles. Spike Lee made his feature film directorial debut with She's Gotta Have It in 1986, making his first appearance on screen in the same film.

TMZ broke news of Lee's death, citing his daughter, J.C. Lee. His wife, Joan Lee, died in 2017. "Every time you open a Marvel comic, Stan will be there", according to the statement.
