Apparently, beating Hue Jackson on the field wasn't enough for Baker Mayfield.

The Bengals' special assistant to head coach Marvin Lewis, fired by the Browns on October 29 along with offensive coordinator Todd Haley, was on the familiar end of the scoreboard Sunday afternoon - a loss.

"Left Cleveland, goes down to Cincinnati". Mayfield said, per Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot.

The tense situation between quarterback and former coach didn't disappear on Monday.

Some have loved this comment from Mayfield, while others have criticized him. Things happen in pro football.

Woody also pointed out that Mayfield, a walk-on at Texas Tech, transferred to another Big 12 school, Oklahoma.

He shot back at Woody with an Instagram comment, saying the announcer's take was "not even comparable" and then took another crack at Jackson.

Mayfield admitted that he didn't care for Jackson's decision to join the Bengals less than a week after he was sacked by the Browns, and as a result, Mayfield didn't give the coach who drafted him a warm reception.

The controversy surrounding his relationship with Jackson overshadowed an otherwise solid day for the 2018 first overall pick.

Mayfield threw for 258 yards and tossed four touchdowns with no interceptions in their 35-20 win on the road against their AFC North rivals.

Mayfield already has the Browns out to an early lead against the Bengals, thanks to touchdown passes to wide receiver Antonio Callaway and tight end David Njoku.

Fans tell FOX 8 the record of 4-6-1 for the Cleveland Browns means they'll have a good mood all week.
